"We all want to say thank you for our best family holiday to date. We loved the house and admired greatly the detail and quality of its finish. We loved the views and the peace and sense of space. The kids loved the pool and the freedom of the place. We had so many plans to visit many places but were torn between just sitting by the pool admiring view or getting in the car and going sightseeing. We did manage to see Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre, San Gimignano and our favourite, Lucca, which we returned to a few times. We also made it to Pariana - a different world. We were upset leaving and heading back to rain, busy streets, cars, etc. We all said we'd love to return. Once again, thank you for a lovely holiday location. The only problem now is trying to select the photo which best captures the view and atmosphere of Ferchia."

I am currently feeling grumpy sitting back at work in the UK so I thought I'd write a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay in the Villa last week. We were delighted with the villa and you were spot on about the difference of having the bedrooms on the ground floor. The location is amazing (despite some panicky screams from the girls going up the track!) and the Villa was just great. We enjoyed such friendly hospitality at Pracando, going there twice, once on foot!"

"We had a wonderful time at Ferchia, a welcoming and fabulously appointed farmhouse. We had 4 kids with us of 1, 3, 14 and 15 and each of them just loved the house and pool and also the surrounding area - we didn't get one complaint of boredom! The house has everything in it you need for an easy holiday and the snooker table and playing cards were a real success every night for the nearly adults and adults! We shopped a lot in Esselunga, which has fantastic fruits, vegs, amazing fresh pasta and fresh pasta sauces, and of course antipasti ingredients aplenty. We even made our own pizza's one night, as well as barbequed with the wonderful meat they sell - chicken how chicken should be, and the most amazing steaks! Suggestion - if you buy a watermelon, see if any other families staying in the other parts of the farmhouse want some - they are huge! Our favourite restaurant was La Carla which is about 40 minutes away but well worth it. Warning - the map shows a route over the top of the hills, but when we tried it, it turned out to be an undriveable track! On Wednesday they do Pizza for lunch - the best ever! We didn't have dessert there, but stopped on the way back through Pescia at the Gelataria on the left hand side of the road, you have to have the Nutella ice-cream. I had to try and make it myself as soon as I got back to UK! Thanks Rod and Jennie, we will definitely be back! The Mendoza-Wilsons and Wilsons, Hertfordshire and Fife."

"We really did enjoy ourselves and it's obvious why you love being there. It's very easy to relax there and you have made it very comfortable. We all agreed that you have a fabulous support team with all the workers out there and of course Theresa is lovely. There was always someone around - doing the pool, watering, strimming, etc and the place seems extremely well cared for."

"Having the Metato/house arrangement was absolutely perfect for our family. The pool is super and beautifully clean. Actually your website doesn't do the pool justice - it's so much nicer which was a lovely surprise. "

"We had some lovely meals out - particularly at La Carla where we could have gone each day. Another good pasta lunch at Gigi Trattoria in Piazza del Carmine in Lucca - tucked away and convenient. We found the whole area really interesting and 100% nicer than central Tuscany from the tourism angle. It was good to see what was going on locally and we were all fascinated by the paper mills. We probably weren't very adventurous in what we did but it was certainly a change from our normal lives which was the point. Villa Reale was wonderful - we went early and two of us were walked around by one of the gardeners - beautiful place - did you know the main villa has over 100 bathrooms?!
Anyway, thank you so much for having such a wonderful Italian home. We have spent a lot of time in Italy in various parts and we love the country - we would certainly love to stay at Ferchia again. Thank you too for all the help pre-booking and all the info you sent. I think it's all the little details that made us feel welcome and able to get on with the holiday as soon as possible."

Just to say, many thanks for a wonderful stay in your fabulous house. We were so lucky with the weather so the views across the valley were stunning. We tried the local eating spots and were made to feel so welcome. A day in Florence, exploring the area and trawling the markets meant time flew by.....

On another damp cold and grey day outside my workshop window my mind has been wandering back to the wonderful week we spent looking over the treetops at Ferchia. Such a lovely welcoming place where I can imagine relaxing with a book by the log burner even in the foulest weather.
