We have now had four villa holidays in Italy but Ferchia was the best villa by a mile and far exceeded our expectations. We had an excellent holiday there and would love to return one day if you will have us.

Breakfast on patio, summoned by cross valley bell,
A walk in the woods, or a dream in the dell.
Maybe just sit and gaze at the trees,
Lunch, gentle snooze. Relax, book on knees.
And so on and on, day follows day,
It's all so renewing, holidaying this way.
We did see the well, the track to Pariana,
But always returned, glad, to this Nirvana.
Now we are away, sorry, can't prolong this stay.
Cows to be milked, time to make hay.
England in May, rain, hail, fog, soggy attire,
'Tis Ferchia I desire, to the hills I aspire.

"We all want to say thank you for our best family holiday to date. We loved the house and admired greatly the detail and quality of its finish. We loved the views and the peace and sense of space. The kids loved the pool and the freedom of the place. We had so many plans to visit many places but were torn between just sitting by the pool admiring view or getting in the car and going sightseeing. We did manage to see Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre, San Gimignano and our favourite, Lucca, which we returned to a few times. We also made it to Pariana - a different world. We were upset leaving and heading back to rain, busy streets, cars, etc. We all said we'd love to return. Once again, thank you for a lovely holiday location. The only problem now is trying to select the photo which best captures the view and atmosphere of Ferchia."

I am currently feeling grumpy sitting back at work in the UK so I thought I'd write a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay in the Villa last week. We were delighted with the villa and you were spot on about the difference of having the bedrooms on the ground floor. The location is amazing and the Villa was just great.

"We had a wonderful time at Ferchia, a welcoming and fabulously appointed farmhouse. We had 4 kids with us of 1, 3, 14 and 15 and each of them just loved the house and pool and also the surrounding area - we didn't get one complaint of boredom! The house has everything in it you need for an easy holiday and the snooker table and playing cards were a real success every night for the nearly adults and adults! We shopped a lot in Esselunga, which has fantastic fruits, vegs, amazing fresh pasta and fresh pasta sauces, and of course antipasti ingredients aplenty. We even made our own pizza's one night, as well as barbequed with the wonderful meat they sell - chicken how chicken should be, and the most amazing steaks!

Just to say, many thanks for a wonderful stay in your fabulous house. We were so lucky with the weather so the views across the valley were stunning. We tried the local eating spots and were made to feel so welcome.

On another damp cold and grey day outside my workshop window my mind has been wandering back to the wonderful week we spent looking over the treetops at Ferchia. Such a lovely welcoming place where I can imagine relaxing with a book by the log burner even in the foulest weather.

I would like to mention the refreshing water of the pool, far more invigorating than nearby spas and much more entertaining.

Extremely impressed with the style, comfort and the whole ambience. A really great week, with some fabulous food too.

We said that we would be back (see previous page) and we have had another wonderful break at Ferchia. We can now testify that there?s only one thing better than a week at Ferchia and that is two! Thanks for letting us share your beautiful Villa.

What a lovely charming abode for the too short a while we stayed here. Excellent views, lovely pool, beautiful stars at night, fantastic bat watching. Barga and Lucca a real treat but nothing to this idyllic rendezvous. Now totally chilled.

What a lovely place to finish off our two weeks in wonderful Tuscany. First time here. We only had 4 days in this superb property where everything is catered for and hooray, no TV. We have enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you.

We have had the most amazing week in Ferchia, and I accepted my boyfriends proposal of marriage. Glorious weather, beautiful scenery and lovely Italian food. The metato is amazing, cosy, perfect for chilly nights when you want to enjoy the log burner and the private terrace above is perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the stunning views.

Thanks for an absolutely fabulous week! Would love to recommend lots of fantastic places to visit but the best place we found all week was the terrace above the house. It was so relaxing to while away the days, totally absorbed by the changing views and the mass of butterflies. If you do get tired of doing nothing, then can recommend Barga, Lucca and the gardens in Collodi but really just sit back and relax. Thanks again.

Ferchia is a beautiful and idyllic retreat. What a beautiful time of year. May in Toscana. Florence and Lucca both breathtaking but most of all we have enjoyed the spectacular view from Ferchia to Pariana. We don't really want to leave. Thank you for the experience and we shall be back someday.

Three weeks of glorious Tuscan weather. Wall to wall blue sky (except for 2 days). What more could you ask for!! Thanks for letting us use your beautiful Tuscan retreat. We are entirely restored and refreshed.

Second visit and every bit as good as the first. Weather hotter by the day as the holiday passed by too quickly. Sorry to be going home to the every day rat race. We will be back!

Best Italian holiday ever! Peaceful, hot, fun and relaxing; what more could you want?

Peaceful setting for a perfect weeks relaxation. Just what we all needed. Taking home lots of memories.

We were in bliss. The sun shone, the birds sang, your gardener gave us a bag of huge lemons which required a lot of gin to use them up--in fact, apart from one shopping trip, we stayed contentedly put.

What a wonderful holiday we had at Ferchia. It is a very special and beautiful place. We were so interested in seeing the "before" pictures of the buildings. What an amazing job you have done. It's so well thought out, we loved it. And the view! Wow, totally breathtaking.

Thanks - had a lovely time and really enjoyed staying at Ferchia. It was lovely despite the clouds and cool weather for some of the week. We slept very well and my son loved having Frank around.

May we say that your directions were excellent and we didn't get lost once in spite of the lack of road signs! The directions to interesting places and the supermarkets were equally clear, thank you.

The Metato was wonderful, cosy and absolutely amazing, and we enjoyed it and the pool immensely. We managed to visit a lot of interesting places, and got ourselves lost on the Autostrada on a couple of occasions which was amusing in a frustrating sort of way. The weather was excellent throughout the time that we were there and we had a memorable, incredibly enjoyable and educational honeymoon, and we are sure that we will return there.

We will certainly be contacting you in the future to make use of your wonderful retreat in Ferchia.

We have wonderful memories of our week at Ferchia. It will remain a special place for us, both for the fact that it's where we got engaged, and also the people that we shared the holiday with.
